A.N.B.U. invites you to join us for Pathways to Healing, an inspiring virtual event celebrating completion of A.N.B.U.’s first-of-its-kind research initiative for the Tamil community that has now paved the way for a linguistically and culturally attuned group therapy model (GTM) designed to support adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) in racialized communities in Canada.
Why This Event Matters:
For far too long, racialized communities have lacked access to healing spaces that honour their unique cultural identities and experiences. Through collaboration, research, and the strength of survivor voices, A.N.B.U. has developed an innovative and trauma-informed approach to healing. This event is more than a celebration—it’s a moment to share, connect, and envision a brighter, hope-filled future.
Over the past two years, A.N.B.U.’s research initiative (conducted in collaboration with The Gatehouse and York University – The Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education) has been devoted to creating a linguistically and culturally tailored group therapy model to support Tamil adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse as they embark on their healing journeys. This innovative model has been built in collaboration with survivors and community voices.
Our vision is to see this new work serve as a blueprint for developing culturally relevant group therapy models for other racialized and equity-seeking communities. Together, we can redefine healing spaces that honour the resilience, diversity, and strength of every community.
